RecyclingSalem's curbside recycling program has been a great success. But we can do much more. When trash is recycled, we protect the environment from toxic wastes that are released in landfills and through trash incinerators, and we reduce greenhouse gas emissions. SAFE is working to - Ensure that the Salem recycling program takes all recyclable plastics;
- Bring more local businesses into the recycling program;
- Expand recylcing to multi-unit buildings with private trash pick-up; and
- Improve education on disposal of hazardous wastes.
