Mayor Kim Driscoll will be our guest speaker at the September SAFE Meeting. She will provide an update on steps the city is taking to bring the off-shore wind industry to Salem. Several wind energy companies have expressed interest in possibly leasing the 44 acres available next to the Footprint Power Plant for marshalling and operating ocean-based wind turbines off the South Shore and in the Gulf of Maine.
