SAFE is thrilled to announce its new co-chair, Betsy Frederick. Betsy has been an active member of the board and recently served as a key member of the SAFE team that helped to negotiate a strong Community Benefits Agreement between Salem and the developers of the offshore wind marshaling port.

We are particularly pleased to have as co-chair a Salem resident with decades of experience in natural resources planning, Betsy is a professional environmental planner who is also a member of the City of Salem Sustainability, Energy, and Resiliency Committee (SERC).

Betsy joins co-chair Jim Mulloy at the start of an exciting time for the city and SAFE. We are privileged to have her leadership as we undertake important work in numerous areas. These include continuing to ensure the Salem and greater north shore benefits from the wind port, supporting geothermal technology, and ensuring healthy sustainably lives for all residents in Salem.

When Betsy isn’t tabling, attending events, or speaking up on behalf of resiliency and sustainability for all, she’s probably at the gym playing pickle ball.

Send Betsy a note of congrats and share your hopes for the future of sustainability in Salem here.
