On Thursday, November 6th, 2025, the North Shore CDC hosted an evening of celebration and impact with their Beyond the Bricks: Building Community Together event. “Every brick tells a story[,] and with your support, we can continue building strong foundations for the future.”

Neighbors, supporters, and community leaders came together connected for a common cause; raising funds to support affordable housing and essential programs and services.

The event programming consisted of live local music, a silent auction, and a special awards ceremony—all accompanied by curated sips and catered goods.

North Shore CDC honored their 2025 Community Changemakers which consisted of individuals and organizations whose efforts and resilience has strengthened and inspired the North Shore. Of these Changemakers, SAFE was honored as the 2025 Community Partner. This award was dedicated to Lucy Corchado for her leadership in El Punto and her time consulting SAFE. The CDC honored Jacquie Valatka, SAFE Treasurer, as their 2025 Community Hero.

SAFE is honored to be recognized at this event by the North Shore CDC.
